Patented diaper blowout solution BabyBackups took home The Visionary Award at Hygienix 2015 in October. Awarded by INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, The Visionary Award recognizes and rewards innovation in new consumer personal care products. BabyBackups was announced as a finalist last September and beat out the competition by offering a new take on an ongoing problem, diaper blowouts. Utilizing a hypoallergenic, wedge-shaped pad, BabyBackups fits securely to any diaper brand to effectively absorb and contain excess liquids, eliminating messy clean ups and ruined clothing. “New parents have so much going on that the last thing they should have to worry about is an ineffective diaper,” says Steve DeFrancesco, president, Sienabena, LLC. “And really, that’s why we developed BabyBackups; my wife and I were tired of dealing with this problem and knew we weren’t alone. When we developed BabyBackups we never imagined that it would catch on so quickly. Being nominated for The Visionary Award was completely unexpected, and then to have such a large group of our international peers pick BabyBackups as the most innovative product of the year was an unbelievable honor.” Alongside BabyBackups were finalists from leading manufactures, including Proctor & Gamble and McAirlaid’s. Finalists were selected from various categories such as disposable diapers, feminine hygiene products, adult incontinence products, medical/wound care products, and personal care wipes. “The Visionary Award recognizes new consumer products that expand the use of nonwovens and demonstrate uniqueness, novelty, and technical sophistication,” says Dave Rousse, INDA president. “There were many nominees for 2015 from which we narrowed the field to three finalists to present to the attendees at Hygienix: The Premier Event for Absorbent Hygiene & Personal Care Products. Professionals in this industry voted BabyBackups as the winning product, and we are pleased to see Sienabena, LLC and its BabyBackups product recognized by others in the industry for this ingenious new product.”
